Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering excellent customer service and creating high-quality beverages in a fast-paced food industry environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food preparation, cash handling, and customer engagement while working in a dynamic team setting. Prior barista experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided to ensure success in this role.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and specialty beverages following company recipes and standards
- Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for accurate order processing and cash handling
- Manage food safety and hygiene standards during food handling and preparation
- Assist customers with menu selections, answer questions, and provide exceptional customer service
- Handle cashier responsibilities including cash handling, processing payments, and giving accurate change
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, equipment, and dining space in accordance with health regulations
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth daily operations
- Support food preparation tasks such as assembling ingredients and maintaining inventory levels
Skills
- Previous barista experience or background in the food industry is highly desirable
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers
- Proficiency with POS systems, particularly Micros POS, for efficient transaction processing
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders during busy periods
- Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and managing transactions accurately
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and assist customers confidently
