Sewer Inspector Job Summary
Rapid Sewer Data is seeking a motivated individual to assist with the collection of field data for municipal sewer infrastructure investigations. This role involves locating and inspecting manholes and pipelines, operating specialized inspection equipment, and ensuring accurate data collection while working safely in outdoor environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the collection of field data related to sewer pipeline and manhole inspections.
- Locate sewer assets using maps, GPS, and field information.
- Expose and access manhole covers when required, including digging and site preparation.
- Assist in the setup, operation, and retrieval of inspection equipment, including cameras and other specialized tools.
- Accurately record field observations and inspection data.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of inspection equipment, vehicles, and tools.
- Follow all Rapid Sewer Data Corp. standard operating procedures and quality control processes.
- Adhere to all health and safety policies, including traffic control and safe work practices.
- Represent the company professionally while interacting with municipal staff and the public.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid Class G driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
- Comfortable performing physically demanding tasks, including walking, digging, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Construction, municipal infrastructure, utility locating, sewer, water, or inspection experience is considered an asset but is not required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating cameras, GPS equipment, or other field data collection tools.
- Knowledge of municipal sewer infrastructure.
- Traffic control or Book 7 training is an asset.
- NASSCO PACP or MACP certification is an asset (training may be provided).
Work Environment
- Full-time field position.
- Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Frequent lifting, walking, standing, bending, and manual labor required.
- Travel to project sites throughout Ontario & BC is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00-$35.00 per hour
