In this role, you will:
Lead and represent the department in complex technical studies involving transportation engineering, operational design, and transit priority measures for bus and streetcar operations, including engineering and operational design issues at complex intersections. This includes representing the TTC at Committees of Council.
Lead or support multi-disciplinary environmental assessment and transportation studies undertaken by the City, Province, and the TTC in support of transit priority improvements, new transit facilities, light rail projects, station expansions, facility modifications, terminals, and loops.
Manage and coordinate the TTC's multi-year, multi-million-dollar Transit Signal Priority Program, working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and City partners to improve transit service reliability and customer experience.
Investigate and resolve operational issues affecting surface transit routes reported by City staff, TTC divisions, and Joint Health and Safety Committees.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with City traffic operations, transportation planning, and engineering authorities to ensure efficient transit operations are maintained and enhanced through roadway and signal modifications.
Manage and coordinate planning and engineering activities associated with capital and special projects aimed at improving transit operations and customer service.
Review traffic impact studies associated with proposed developments, assess impacts on transit operations, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) representing the Transportation Planning and Engineering team on cross-functional initiatives and major TTC projects.
Lead, coach, develop, and supervise Transportation Engineers and Technicians, including establishing annual goals and objectives related to safety, customer service, performance management, and attendance management.
Prepare technical correspondence, briefing materials, presentations, reports, and recommendations for senior management, including the Head, Transportation Planning and Engineering and Chief Transportation Engineer.
Attend public meetings, stakeholder consultations, and inter-agency meetings and deliver presentations as required.
Review technical studies, reports, and memoranda and provide expert analysis and advice to support strategic decision-making.
