Position Overview
We are looking for an organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Dispatcher to coordinate daily delivery operations, assign drivers efficiently, and ensure timely pickups and drop-offs. This role is critical in maintaining a smooth logistics flow, optimizing routes, and communicating with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, assign, and monitor daily driver schedules and routes for regional and cross-border deliveries
- Communicate real-time updates and delivery instructions to drivers using dispatch software
- Coordinate with warehouse and customer service teams to prioritize urgent shipments
- Track truck locations and ensure timely updates on delivery statuses
- Resolve on-road issues such as delays, traffic, or breakdowns with alternate solutions
- Monitor compliance with company policies, driver hours, and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate logs, records, and reports for all dispatch activities
- Handle client inquiries related to delivery status and scheduling
- Assist in onboarding new drivers with route training and process briefings.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in dispatching or logistics coordination (minimum 1–2 years preferred)
- Strong knowledge of the GTA and regional routes
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in dispatch software and GPS tracking tools (e.g., Truckpedia, etc.)
- Problem-solving mindset with quick decision-making ability
