Sammarco is an upscale Italian steakhouse located in old town Toronto. It's the third collaboration between restauranteur David Minicucci and Chef Rob Rossi. Following their acclaimed establishments, Giulietta and Osteria Giulia.
We are seeking a career driven line cook looking for the next step in their career, to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a line cook, you will play a vital role cooking a section within the hot or cold line of the kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensuring section is set up ready for service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Collaborate with other kitchen team members to ensure section is set ready for service.
- Monitor section par levels and maintain the company standard of MEP.
- Follow all food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety.
Requirements
- 2 years experience in a high end kitchen preferred, hot line experience required
- 3 years cooking in fast paced kitchen.
- Valid work permit to work in Canada.
- Knowledge of fish butchery including the filleting of fish, basic butchery.
- School diploma in culinary arts and asset.
- Food handlers certificate.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong and positive teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen team.
- A passion for cooking and a desire to learn more about the culinary arts and high quality ingredients.
- A passion for hospitality.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
