Cafe/Restaurant & Events Manager
We are seeking an experienced, confident, and highly organized Cafe/Restaurant & Events Manager to lead daily operations in an extremely busy, fast-paced cafe and restaurant environment.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a positive attitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to stay calm and level-headed under pressure. This role requires someone who can manage a team, maintain high service standards, coordinate events, support daily operations, and step in wherever needed to keep the business running smoothly.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in hospitality, enjoys creating memorable guest experiences, and is comfortable managing both people and operations.
Responsibilities
The Cafe/Restaurant & Events Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily flow of the cafe, restaurant, and event operations. This includes leading the team, supporting service, coordinating bookings, managing vendors, and ensuring that all daily tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Duties include:
- Oversee daily cafe and restaurant operations in a high-volume environment
- Lead, motivate, and support front-of-house staff to complete daily tasks efficiently
- Ensure exceptional customer service and a welcoming guest experience at all times
- Supervise staff performance, provide training, and help maintain a positive team culture
- Assist with hiring, interviewing, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management
- Coordinate restaurant and event bookings, including private parties, corporate events, and special functions
- Source vendors, negotiate pricing, coordinate deliveries, and maintain strong vendor relationships
- Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication between front-of-house and back-of-house teams
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, cleanliness, and food handling standards
- Oversee cash handling procedures and use POS systems accurately
- Support food and beverage service during busy periods
- Be willing to learn barista skills and confidently jump in during peak rushes when needed
- Handle guest concerns professionally and calmly
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment
- Identify areas for improvement and help implement better systems and procedures
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in restaurant, cafe, food service, or hospitality management
- Experience managing a busy, fast-paced hospitality environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, motivate, and hold a team accountable
- Confidence managing staff, delegating tasks, and ensuring daily responsibilities are completed
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- A calm, level-headed approach during high-pressure service periods
- Strong customer service skills and a genuine hospitality mindset
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and basic operational procedures
- Knowledge of food safety, food handling, and cleanliness standards
- Experience coordinating events, bookings, or private functions is an asset
- Vendor sourcing, supplier communication, or negotiation experience is an asset
- Barista experience is an asset, but not required — must be willing to learn
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and event-based hours as needed
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to jump in wherever needed

Pay: $52,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
