Milestone Foster Homes is seeking Child and Youth Care Practitioners in the Hamilton, Toronto and Peel regions, to support children and youth (ages 0–18) in out-of-home care. Ideal candidates have experience in child welfare, mental health, or other child & youth-related services. Training is provided in UMAB, FASD, behavioural support, therapeutic communication, co-regulation, and documentation practices.
What You'll Do
- Provide trauma-informed, attachment-based support to children and youth
- Build trusting relationships that support emotional regulation and coping
- Use crisis intervention, de-escalation, and co-regulation strategies
- Implement individualized support and safety plans
- Complete clinical documentation
- Collaborate with caregivers and multidisciplinary teams
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Child & Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, ECE, or a related field
- Minimum 1-year related experience
Assets (Preferred)
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, attachment theory, and relational practice
- Experience supporting youth with complex needs, ASD, FASD, or behavioural challenges
- First Aid & CPR certification

Requirements
- Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Automobile insurance with $2 million liability coverage
- Current Police Record Check (BRC)
- Child Welfare Check
Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3.0 – 32.0 per week
