Andrew Fleck Children’s Services is looking to hire a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE). In this role you will provide nurturing care and developmentally appropriate education to meet the needs of children in a group setting within a safe and healthy environment and in cooperation with parents, colleagues and community professionals.
Available from: July 13th, 2026 to September 11th, 2026
Salary: $27.70 to $32.44 per hour + 4% vacation pay
Hours: 35 hours per week, 7 hours per day, Shifts between 7:15 am to 5:30 pm
*7 Hours on PA and Non- School Days
Location: George Street Child Care Program, 185 and 195 George St., Ottawa

In this role you will…
Participate in a child-focused curriculum where staff and children work together to expand and develop a wide range of skills and competence based on the emergent curriculum philosophy. An emergent curriculum is one that builds upon the interests of the children. It is often spontaneous and responsive to their immediate interests; topics are driven by the ideas and questions from the children themselves
Engage in caring, curious, and respectful interactions with children to support their growing relationships with themselves, each other, and the natural world
Actively encourage and promote outdoor learning and play with the children
Be committed to the welfare and development of all children, and be available for consultation, information, and resources for families and guardians
Welcome the diversity of all families, role modelling inclusive and accessible language
To qualify for this role you have…
Degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education
RECE in good standing with the CECE
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in a group setting
Clear Police Records check completed in last 6 months
Current Standard First Aid and CPR Certification
Proven ability to work closely with other team members
Sensitivity and respect for individual and cultural differences
Adequate energy level and ability to meet the physical demands of the job
