Matcor-Matsu Group is a fully integrated supplier of manufacturing and engineering services providing modular assemblies and complex stampings for body-in-white, drivetrain, interior and seating applications for the automotive industry.
Position Summary:
The Stamping Team Leader is responsible for leading and coordinating daily operations within the stamping department to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role provides hands-on leadership, supports team members, monitors production performance, and works closely with supervisors, maintenance, quality, and production planning to achieve operational goals. This position works a 3-shift rotation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Lead, coach, and motivate stamping department employees to achieve production, quality, and safety objectives.
· Coordinate daily production activities to meet schedules and customer requirements.
· Assign work and monitor employee performance throughout each shift.
· Ensure all stamping presses and related equipment are operated safely and efficiently.
· Promote and enforce company safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
· Verify that quality standards are maintained and respond promptly to production or quality issues.
· Perform first-piece and in-process inspections as required.
· Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate with maintenance when equipment repairs are needed.
· Monitor machine uptime, downtime, scrap, and productivity metrics.
· Train new employees on equipment operation, work instructions, safety procedures, and quality expectations.
· Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and documentation.
· Conduct shift handoffs and communicate production priorities to incoming teams.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives, including waste reduction, process optimization, and 5S activities.
· Participate in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
· Ensure proper material handling and inventory practices within the department.
· Foster a positive team environment focused on accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.
· The incumbent is also responsible for completing any other tasks and/or projects as required by leadership.
Education, Skills and Abilities:
· High school diploma or equivalent; technical education is an asset.
· 3–5 years of experience in a metal stamping or manufacturing environment.
· Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
· Strong understanding of stamping presses, dies, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
· Knowledge of quality systems, inspection techniques, and production documentation.
· Ability to read production schedules, work instructions, and technical drawings.
· Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and manufacturing software.
· Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
· Ability to stay relevant on current legislation, regulations and licenses and maintain a commitment to continuous learning and upgrading skills as required
· Knowledge of Health and Safety is required. Valid First Aid Certification is an asset.
Pay Transparency:
Salary Range: $23.36 - $26.41 per hour
