Context:
The Surveying Post Processing Specialist will provide full time technical post processing, analysis, and quality control of survey data generated by field teams and external providers. The role focuses on processing, validating, and producing survey deliverables, including point clouds, drone data products, digital terrain models, and CAD drawings, while ensuring compliance with applicable standards and internal requirements.
Missions/Main Duties:
Survey Data & GNSS Post Processing

Process GNSS/GPS survey data (static, rapid static, RTK, PPK).

Perform network adjustments, control verification, and accuracy assessments.

Apply coordinate systems, datums, projections, and transformations as required.
Point Cloud & Drone Data Processing
-
Post process point clouds from TLS, LiDAR, mobile mapping, and UAV/drone systems.

Perform registration, alignment, classification, filtering, and cleaning of point clouds.

Process drone/UAV data, including photogrammetry outputs, dense point clouds, orthomosaics, and elevation models.

Validate point cloud accuracy, density, and consistency with survey control.
DTM & CAD Deliverables

Generate Digital Terrain Models (DTM) and surfaces from survey and point cloud data.

Produce topographic CAD drawings, including contours, breaklines, spot elevations, and features.

Prepare CAD files, surfaces, points, and linework in accordance with internal standards and project requirements.

Support preparation of survey deliverables derived from processed datasets.
Quality Control & Analysis

Perform quality control reviews of processed survey data and deliverables.

Analyze datasets for errors, inconsistencies, data gaps, or deviations from specifications.

Validate accuracy, precision, and completeness of point clouds, DTMs, and CAD outputs.

Identify issues and recommend corrective actions and workflow improvements.

Provide technical feedback to improve field data acquisition and processing efficiency.
Standards & Technical Support

Ensure all processed data and deliverables comply with applicable standards (MTQ, OAGQ, municipal, and internal).

Support the development and maintenance of internal post processing standards and best practices.

Collaborate with Field Survey Coordinators and Geodetic Experts on complex or high risk datasets
Profile/Skills:
Education: DEC or degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field
Years of experience: Strong experience in survey post processing and technical data validation.
Technical competencies:

Proficiency with post processing and point cloud software (e.g. Leica Infinity, Trimble Business Center, Cyclone, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or equivalent).

Solid understanding of GNSS positioning, survey accuracy, and quality control principles.

Strong experience with point cloud processing and UAV/drone workflows, an asset.

Proven ability to generate DTMs and topographic CAD drawings, an asset.

Knowledge of coordinate systems and geodetic principles, an asset.

Experience in consulting engineering or large infrastructure environments, an asset.
