Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and inspections on various types of trailers, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. Your expertise will contribute to the overall reliability of our fleet, playing a critical role in our mission to provide exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of trailers to identify mechanical issues and safety concerns
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotations
- Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Fabricate and weld trailer components as needed to ensure structural integrity
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance service delivery
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience as a trailer mechanic or in a similar role
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment
- CVIP Certification
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Familiarity with welding techniques and equipment
- Experience with electronic diagnostic tools for troubleshooting
