Job Title: Manufacturing Set Up Technician – Afternoon Shift
Location: Oro-Medonte (Barrie Area), Ontario
Sunset Staffing Agency is currently recruiting an experienced Manufacturing Set Up Technician for a leading manufacturing client in the Barrie area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for machine setup, equipment adjustments, troubleshooting, and supporting efficient production operations. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Set up, calibrate, and prepare manufacturing equipment for production runs
- Perform machine changeovers, adjustments, and troubleshooting
- Use precision measuring tools including calipers and other inspection equipment
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Perform quality checks to ensure parts meet production standards
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Troubleshoot mechanical and equipment issues to minimize downtime
- Work with production teams to maintain safe and efficient operations
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing setup, technician, or machine operator role
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Experience with CNC equipment, machining, or automated manufacturing systems is an asset
- Knowledge of PLCs and machine controls is an asset
- Ability to use measuring tools and understand tolerances
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
