Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role provides vital support in pharmacy operations, ensuring efficient medication dispensing and excellent patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, medication management, and patient interaction, with experience in hospital or pharmacy settings preferred. Responsibilities
- Assist licensed pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately
- Manage inventory, stock supplies, and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals
- Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and offering guidance on medication usage
- Process prescriptions and maintain detailed records in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Support medication administration processes under supervision, ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and managing patient records
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area to meet health and safety standards
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure timely and accurate medication delivery
Experience
- Prior hospital or pharmacy technician experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures is preferred
- Experience in patient care environments demonstrates strong communication skills and compassion
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems is a plus
- Candidates should possess a strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
