About the role:
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Field Operations, the Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day management of operations on assigned job sites. They oversee work teams, coordinate subcontractor activities, and ensure compliance with plans, schedules, and safety standards on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper planning of work on the job site;
- Maintain a constant presence on site to supervise work and resolve technical issues;
- Supervise and lead work teams, including both subcontractors and JCB employees;
- Plan requirements for materials, equipment, and labor;
- Update project schedules;
- Work collaboratively with the Project Manager;
- Inform the Project Manager of any major changes that could impact the project;
- Monitor and control labor hours (both internal and contracted) and submit time reports to the payroll department;
- Welcome all site stakeholders in accordance with established health and safety procedures;
- Ensure all activities comply with the company’s health and safety standards;
- Review subcontractors’ safety and prevention documentation;
- Take weekly photos to document project progress;
- Maintain documentation of work progress by completing daily reports;
- Perform any other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in construction or a related field;
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial, industrial, or institutional projects;
- Broad experience with new construction, major renovations, and large-scale interior fit-outs;
- Experience supervising large-scale projects ($10M+);
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general office tools;
