AZ Truck Driver / Equipment Hauler

About the Role
Peninsula Excavation is seeking an experienced AZ Truck Driver to support day-to-day operations across job sites in the Niagara Region.
This role is primarily focused on operating a tri-axle dump truck, with occasional responsibility for hauling equipment between sites. Start times are typically 6:00 AM, as trucks need to be on the road early to reach quarries for opening and ensure materials are delivered to job sites on schedule.
This is a hands-on role that requires independence, awareness, and consistency. Reliability is critical, this role directly impacts the flow of work on-site each day.
Key Responsibilities / Daily Tasks
· Fuel and maintain the assigned dump truck
· Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspections, including logbook and walkaround
· Haul materials to and from job sites and customer locations
· Follow supervisor instructions on schedule, locations, and material requirements
· Arrive on time to pick-up and dump locations prepared and ready to work
· Plan routes and navigate efficiently between quarries and job sites, including rough or tight-access areas
· Load and manage materials safely to ensure proper weight distribution and secure transport
· Occasionally load, secure, and transport equipment (skid steers, mini excavators, rollers, etc.) between sites
· Maintain awareness on job sites and public roads to operate safely at all times
· Identify and report mechanical issues early
· Communicate clearly with supervisors, crews, and customers
· Represent the company in a polite and professional manner
· Keep trucks and equipment clean and in good working condition
Requirements
· Valid AZ Driver’s License (DZ considered if highly experienced)
· 3+ years of commercial driving experience
· Experience hauling aggregates and operating dump trucks
· Ability to safely load and transport equipment when required
· Strong understanding of load management and safe hauling practices
· Mechanical awareness with the ability to identify issues early
· Proven ability to navigate quarries, job sites, and varying terrain
· Strong situational awareness and safety-first mindset
· Clear and effective communication skills
· Professional and respectful when interacting with customers and crews
· Reliable, punctual, and consistent with attendance
· Physically capable of handling the demands of the role (binding equipment, lifting heavy ramps)
