The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential and industrial settings. Duties will be compliant with company policies, standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality work, customer satisfaction, safety and timely completion of projects. This role requires a strong understanding of plumbing codes, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Duties
- Participate in projects involving plumbing changes and/or additions
- Collaborate with contractors,electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters in installing and repairing plumbing
- Respond to service calls and address the concern
- Interpret blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials
- Maintain, service and install plumbing systems and components
- Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
- Follow and maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance, manufacturer requirements, safety standards, building codes and repair techniques
- Train and mentor apprentices and helpers
Skills
- Proficient in plumbing techniques including assembly and installation of various systems.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics for effective project execution.
- Familiarity with power tools and their safe operation in a plumbing context.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks associated with plumbing installations.
- Basic carpentry skills are beneficial for completing related tasks on-site.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems is advantageous for integrated system work
.Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Licensed Journeyperson (306A)
- 5+ years plumbing experience
- Gas license/ Back Flow Certification (an asset)
Ensure 24/7 availability for emergency services
- A valid driver’s license
- Ability to work independently in a busy environment
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Able to work well under pressure
- Computer profiency
Pay: $38.00-$43.00 per hour
