Rhodes Resto + Bar Kingston is seeking an experienced, professional, and customer-focused Host/Hostess to join our team. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring smooth seating operations and exceptional guest service. This position is best suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment and can confidently manage multiple responsibilities.
Duties
- Welcome guests with a friendly and professional attitude
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and guest seating efficiently
- Answer phone calls and assist with guest inquiries
- Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable entrance area
- Coordinate with servers and management to optimize seating and table rotation
- Assist guests with special requests and resolve concerns professionally
- Support the front-of-house team to ensure smooth daily operations
- Follow all company policies and service standards
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of host or front-of-house experience in a full-service restaurant is required
- Previous experience using reservation or POS systems is considered an asset
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to remain calm and efficient during busy service periods
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
