Thompson Construction Group has immediate openings for a Water and Sewer Top Man supporting our Infrastructure division’s land development and subdivision projects in the Edmonton area.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the elevation and grade of all pipes being installed with either batter boards or builders’ level
- Cutting and beveling pipe
- Rigging all materials to be lowered into ditch
- Setting up track line
- Lining up service connection locations, CB’s, MH’s, etc.
- Participate in daily safety meetings and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
- Report all incidents, near misses, and equipment damage to site supervision
- Maintain effective communication with supervisors and crew members
- Work collaboratively as part of a construction crew to meet project timelines
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experienced as a top man in underground utilities
- Reliable transportation to and from site
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
- Ability to work extended hours, including up to 12 hours per day, Monday to Saturday
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is considered an asset
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in an outdoor construction environment
