Little Steps Occupational Therapy Solutions is a growing paediatric therapy practice dedicated to supporting children and families across a wide range of needs from infancy through to the transition into adulthood. We are passionate about helping children build the emotional resilience, coping skills, and confidence needed to thrive in their everyday lives.
We are currently seeking a compassionate and motivated Psychotherapist to join our growing team in a casual part-time position.
About the Role:
The Psychotherapist will provide assessment, counselling, and intervention services for children and youth presenting with a variety of emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs. This role offers flexibility and opportunities to grow within an expanding paediatric practice.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and mental health assessments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based approaches (e.g., CBT, play therapy, solution-focused therapy)
- Support emotional regulation, coping strategies, social skills, and behavioural challenges
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members
- Provide education and strategies to support carryover in home, school, and community settings
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Ensure a safe, supportive, and child-centred therapeutic environment
Qualifications:
- Registered Psychotherapist (RP) in good standing with the relevant regulatory body (e.g., College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario – CRPO)
- Experience working with the paediatric population is an asset
- Training or experience in evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, play therapy)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and clinical reasoning skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Passion for supporting children and families
