Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cabinet Installer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing cabinets in residential and commercial spaces, ensuring precise fit and finish. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Candidates with experience in carpentry, woodworking, and the use of various hand and power tools will thrive in this position.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and installation instructions to accurately install cabinets according to design specifications.
- Measure spaces accurately to ensure proper fit of cabinetry units.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment for cabinet assembly and installation.
- Prepare work areas by removing obstructions, protecting surfaces, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Install cabinetry securely using appropriate fasteners, hardware, and techniques.
- Make adjustments for levelness, alignment, and finish to achieve a professional appearance.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other trades such as plumbing or electrical teams to coordinate installation schedules.
- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all tools and materials are properly stored after completing tasks.
- Assist with related tasks such as demolition, framing, or minor repairs as needed.
Skills
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
- Experience with cabinet installation, woodworking, carpentry, and use of hand tools and power tools.
- Knowledge of construction materials including drywall, framing, flooring, tile laying, siding, roofing, and caulking is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with construction estimating and project planning is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail for precise measurements and alignments.
- Good communication skills for collaborating with team members and clients.
