About the Position
- We are searching for a casual relief support (up to 12 months) Pharmacy Services Analyst to join our Claims Services team.
- PBCs compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is $70,000-$80,000 and up per year; the base pay offered is based on market and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. The starting salary will be determined based on a combination of skills, education, and experience.

Key Ways This Position Makes An Impact
The Pharmacy Services Analyst liaises with PBC members and clients to offer support in understanding drug plans and eligibility according to contracts, explaining drug coverage relating to BC PharmaCare, facilitating and expediting coverage of an eligible drug, and reviewing and resolving disputed claims and issues.
This role researches and analyzes best practices to help guide employers about making decisions with their plan design and benefit offerings to their employees.
In this role, you would maintain up to date knowledge of pharmaceutical and public payer policies through continuous learning.
As Pharmacy Services Analyst, you would assist in researching and analyzing best practices for PBC on all aspects of pharmacy services including overall effectiveness and efficiency of costs and competitiveness. This would include effective drug management techniques and formulary design along with cost containment strategies for Drug Utilization.
In this role you would be a resources for internal departments by analyzing and explaining usage trends, industry news and trends, and the impact of legislative changes.
This role assists in researching for comprehensive reviews of new drug products for consideration for managed formulary.
You would contribute to implementing internal process changes for drug plan management.
Key Experiences You Bring To This Role
- Minimum 3 years’ community pharmacy experience or experience in a setting that requires a strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products
- Regulated Pharmacy Technician in BC (preferred)
- Familiarity with provincial health legislation and policies
- Proficiency with MS Office, including intermediate level Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated analytical and decision making skills
- Experience in direct customer service an asset
