Associate Machine Operator for a 6-month contract opportunity with our client, a leading medical manufacturing facility in Ottawa, Ontario.
This position is ideal for candidates with manufacturing, assembly, or material handling experience who are looking to grow their careers in a regulated production environment. Successful candidates will begin with foundational tasks such as material picking, packaging, and production support, while participating in structured training to develop into Assembly Machine Operators.

Responsibilities:
- Produce components required for cartridge assembly operations
- Support manufacturing activities while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards
- Inspect products in accordance with documented procedures to ensure the highest quality standards are achieved
- Identify quality concerns and material trends and communicate issues appropriately
- Escalate production, quality, and productivity concerns to minimize defects and downtime
- Perform material changes and replenishment activities in a timely manner to maximize production efficiency
- Accurately record production and quality data in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and documented procedures
- Follow all standard operating procedures and respond appropriately to unusual changes in materials or manufacturing processes
- Assist in investigating production issues and seek clarification when required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Comply with all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Support a culture of workplace safety and environmental responsibility
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous assembly or manufacturing experience required

Material handling or machine operator experience considered an asset

High attention to detail with the ability to work accurately and precisely

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to recognize quality concerns

Ability to adapt to changing priorities, tight deadlines, and heavy workloads

Good verbal and written English communication skills

Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment

Strong commitment to quality, safety, and productivity

High School Diploma or equivalent required

International education must be supported by a WES (World Education Services) evaluation

Must be able to obtain and successfully pass a criminal background check

Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating 4-on, 4-off schedule
