Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CNC Lathe Setter/Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC lathes to produce precision metal components. Your expertise will ensure that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Responsibilities
- Set up CNC lathe machines, including installing tools, fixtures, and workpieces according to specifications.
- Program CNC lathe using controls and other relevant software to produce accurate parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models created in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Monitor machining processes, making adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Conduct routine inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other hand tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform preventive maintenance on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols and lean manufacturing principles.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC lathe setter/operator or in a similar machining role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues quickly.
- Proficiency in CNC programming, especially with Fanuc controls.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and CAD tools.
- Basic math skills for calculating measurements, feeds, speeds, and tolerances.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and forklift as needed.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, assembly, welding, and lean manufacturing practices.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and supervisors.
