Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Dishwasher/Prep Cook to join our restaurant team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment while assisting with food preparation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, food safety, and supporting a smooth restaurant operation. Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not required; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are highly valued.
Duties
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and preparing basic menu items under supervision.
- Support cooking activities by following recipes and instructions from the kitchen staff.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by sweeping, mopping, and disposing of waste properly.
- Ensure food handling procedures comply with safety regulations to prevent contamination.
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Assist with meal preparation during busy service times to support the culinary team.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards learning new skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting pots, pans, or boxes of supplies.
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends and evenings if necessary.
- Basic understanding of serving, cooking, and meal preparation processes is beneficial but training will be provided for the right candidate. Pay: $17.40-$18.00 per hour
