Job Overview
We are seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Personal Injury team.
In this role, you will perform a variety of administrative, clerical, and legal tasks to ensure files move efficiently and clients receive exceptional service.
This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Client and Files Management
- Organize and maintain client files - physical and digital
- Draft, format, and proofread legal documents such as pleadings, memos, and correspondence with attention to detail and clarity.
- Perform data entry, filing, and document processing while ensuring compliance with confidentiality standards.
- Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, health care providers, and opposing counsel
- Provide updates to clients and assist with gathering information or documentation
Administrative Duties
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and phone call correspondence
- Manage incoming calls, direct inquiries appropriately , ensuring excellent phone etiquette and customer service
- Greet incoming visitors at reception and notify the appropriate person of arrival
- Maintain reception area and nearby boardrooms.
- Provide support for mail room
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Legal Assistant or Paralegal diploma/certificate (required or in progress)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage busy workloads
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software (experience with PC Law is an asset)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Professionalism, discretion, and interpersonal skills
