Is a Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada, based multi-discipline industrial fabrication and construction company that has been serving the industrial plant community since 1980. The draftsperson reports directly to the Engineering Manager. As a Draftsperson, your responsibilities will include liaising with engineers, project managers and quality control inspectors/examiners to gather project requirements, calculating dimensions and material specifications, and creating detailed designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
You will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our technical plans with regulations and quality standards.
You shall be proficient in CAD software, familiar with 3D modeling tools, possess good math skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Job Requirements:
· CAD drafting design experience or equivalent training required
· Excellent Organizational and time management skills.
· Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to motivate teams to produce quality results within tight time frames and simultaneously manage several projects.
· Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
· Knowledge of CAD software and 3D modeling tools. AutoCAD is required. Advanced Steel an asset.
· Strong PC skills: proficiency with various word processing, spread sheets.
· Enthusiastic with high energy and timely responsiveness.
· Self-Motivated and Self-Confident.
· Ability to deal with confidential information with a high degree of diplomacy.
· Understands and demonstrates the willingness to promote McSween Custom Fabricating vision and values.
· A desire to build strong professional relationships.
· Demonstrate ability to multi-task effectively and work well under pressure and tight diplomacy.
· Promote and adhere to McSween Custom Fabricating Safety Management System
· Knowledge of ASME codes and API Standards an asset.
· Experience working in a fabrication shop an asset.
Responsibilities:
· Liaise with engineers, project managers and quality control personnel to gather project requirements and designs.
· Create preliminary design sketches for conceptual analysis
· Create engineering drawings and designs for production and manufacturing
· Create design specifications, documentation, and material lists
· Verify drawings are correct to specifications, codes, and other regulations
· Performing calculations for materials and weight requirements
· Describe step-by-step production methods
· Identifying causes of inefficiencies, implement solutions approved by engineers and project managers
· Ensure client requirements are satisfied, documented, and communicated
· Create NDE mapping and Weld mapping
· Create Drawing Index and track drawing revisions
· Create As-Built drawings
