Thompson Construction Group has immediate openings for Water and Sewer Pipe Layers supporting our Infrastructure division’s land development and subdivision projects in the Edmonton area.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Excavator Operator to cut grade
- Installation of graded pipe, manholes, catch basins and any other associated structures
- Installation of pressurized pipe and associated fittings including valves, tees, bends, and hydrants
- Service pipe installation
- Monitor and ensure backfill of installed pipe
- Expose existing utilities
- Participate in daily safety meetings and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
- Report all incidents, near misses, and equipment damage to site supervision
- Maintain effective communication with supervisors and crew members
- Work collaboratively as part of a construction crew to meet project timelines
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the water and sewer industry
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Reliable transportation to and from site
- Ability to work extended hours, including up to 12 hours per day, Monday to Saturday
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is considered an asset
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in an outdoor construction environment
