Overview
The Accounting Assistant supports the Corporate Accountant with daily accounting operations, accounts payable activities, financial record maintenance, and administrative tasks. This role plays an important part in ensuring accurate processing of financial information, organized documentation, and timely completion of accounting processes.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work collaboratively while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in financial information.
Key Responsibilities

Support daily accounting and administrative activities.

Assist with accounts payable processes, including invoice review, approval tracking, data entry, and document organization.

Maintain accurate records of invoices, payments, vendors, and financial documentation.

Assist with vendor setup and maintenance processes.

Prepare reports, reconciliations, and financial summaries as required.

Support credit card reconciliation activities and expense report processing.

Assist with payroll-related administrative reconciliation activities.

Monitor outstanding invoices and support follow-up processes.

Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems.

Provide administrative support to the Corporate Accountant and other departments as required.

Assist with data entry, reporting, and documentation management.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills, Education & Experience

Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

1–3 years of experience in accounting, accounts payable, bookkeeping, or administrative support.

Previous experience in accounting, administration, or accounts payable support preferred.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Good organizational and time management skills.

Ability to handle confidential financial information.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Experience with accounting systems (Zoho Books) and ERP software is an asset.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
