SONYA LEE is seeking a skilled Production Sewer to join our in-house team in Toronto. We produce high-quality leather handbags in small runs with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, precision, and longevity.
This is a hands-on role for someone experienced with industrial machines and comfortable working with structured materials such as leather.
Responsibilities
- Assemble leather handbags using industrial sewing machines
- Operate skiving machines, hydraulic clicker press, and debosser (training provided where needed)
- Follow detailed production manuals, patterns, and technical instructions
- Maintain high quality standards and perform self-QC during construction
- Work collaboratively to meet weekly production targets
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
- Report equipment or material issues promptly
Qualification
- Experience with industrial sewing machines (required)
- Experience sewing leather or structured materials (strong asset)
- Ability to sew straight, consistent seams with attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a production environment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
