Job Description: QC/QA Welding Supervisor (Quality Control) - Steel Manufacturing

Position Overview
TCS is a growing company present in Southern Ontario offering services to the construction industry at large. This position is situated out of our steel fabrication of pre-engineered steel building facility. The position is for a qualified welding supervisor who possesses a strong knowledge of steel fabrication drawings, tolerances, strong familiarity with welding inspection and quality control procedures. This role plays a critical part in maintaining compliance with applicable ISO, CSA, and W47.1 and CSA W59 standards while promoting a culture of quality, safety, and operational excellence throughout the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
- lnspect and verify steel materials and fabricated components meet company and regulatory standards.
- Maintain and update quality control documentation, reports, and records.
- Monitor welding, fabrication, and finishing processes for compliance with ISO/EN/CSA requirements.
- Coordinate with production teams to resolve non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct internal audits and prepare for third-party inspections.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies in all QA/QC activities.
- Communicate quality standards and expectations to shop and field staff.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing and erection operations.
To Be Successful, You Will Need
- Experience in quality assurance and quality control within a steel fabrication, manufacturing, or construction environment.
- Working knowledge of CSA, ISO, EN quality standards and inspection requirements.
- Familiarity with welding processes, steel fabrication practices, and quality documentation.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve quality concerns effectively.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and fabrication documents.
