Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service experience and/or experience in medical and dental office settings, with effective administrative skills and familiarity or ability to learn how to use the electronic medical records system (CHS). This role involves providing exceptional front desk support, managing patient interactions, and ensuring smooth office operations. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and comfortable with using computer technology. Prior experience as a in Customer Service, dental receptionist or in medical office administration is highly valued. Duties
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage front desk operations
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments using electronic medical records systems
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly and professionally
- Collect patient information, verify OHIP insurance details, and update medical records accurately
- Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring all documentation is complete
- Manage patient flow to minimize wait times and enhance the patient experience
- Maintain organization of paper files and digital records within or similar platforms
- May Handle administrative tasks such as billing, coding, and processing payments
- Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and other healthcare staff
- Ensure the reception area remains clean, organized, and welcoming.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical or dental office environment is preferred but Strong Customer Service Experience is acceptable
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems and comfortable with computer technology
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and dental terminology helpful but not required
- Proven experience as a front desk receptionist or administrative assistant
- Office experience involving multi-line phone systems, appointment scheduling, and patient communications is essential
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient information and office workflows
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining professionalism under pressure

Pay: $17.20-$25.00 per hour
