Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and qualified High School Science Teacher specializing in Biology, Physics and Chemistry. The ideal candidate will inspire students through engaging instruction, hands-on learning, and real-world applications of science. This role requires strong subject knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create an inclusive learning environment that supports diverse learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Science to high school students (Grades 9–12), aligned with the Ontario curriculum.
- Deliver clear and engaging lessons that encourage inquiry, experimentation, and critical thinking.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with different academic backgrounds.
- Prepare students for tests, exams, and university entrance requirements.
- Provide regular progress updates and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Develop customized exercises and practice tests to strengthen problem-solving skills.
- Support students preparing for high school Physics and Chemistry competitions (e.g., Sir Isaac Newton, Avogadro, Chemistry Olympiad).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science (Physics, Chemistry, or related field); Master’s degree an asset.
- Proven experience teaching high school science, preferably within the Ontario curriculum.
- Strong knowledge of Biology, Physics and Chemistry, with ability to teach up to Grade 12 university-prep level.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to make lessons engaging and interactive in a small-group or one-on-one tutoring format.
- Certified member of the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) with a valid Ontario teaching certificate is a strong asset.
