Key Responsibilities
Drafting & Design
- Prepare detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, installation drawings, and as-built drawings for architectural metal wall systems, ACM panels, roofing systems, and related building envelope assemblies.
- Develop 2D and 3D models using AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software.
- Create project-specific details and custom solutions to satisfy architectural, structural, and performance requirements.
- Interpret architectural, structural, and consultant drawings to develop accurate and constructible designs.
- Review project specifications, contracts, and tender documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Produce panel layouts, fabrication packages, assembly details, and material schedules for manufacturing and installation.
- Coordinate design requirements with project managers, suppliers, fabricators, installers, architects, engineers, and consultants.
- Revise and update drawings based on design changes, RFIs, consultant comments, site conditions, and project requirements.
- Assist in developing and maintaining company drafting standards, details, templates, and drawing libraries.
- Ensure all drawings are complete, accurate, organized, and issued in accordance with project schedules.
- Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify conflicts, design deficiencies, and constructability concerns before fabrication and installation.
- Participate in internal design reviews and collaborate with team members to improve project execution and efficiency.
Additional Project Support (As Required)
- Assist Project Managers with project coordination, site reviews, and field measurements.
- Support the estimating team with material takeoffs, quantity verification, and bid preparation.
- Coordinate with suppliers, fabricators, consultants, and installers as required.
- Assist with resolving design and constructability issues during project execution.
Qualifications
Required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience in building envelope construction.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, detailing, and drafting standards.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred
- Knowledge of architectural metal wall systems, ACM panels, cladding systems, roofing systems, and related assemblies.
- Experience with material takeoffs and estimating.
- Experience coordinating with field staff, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Familiarity with Rhino, SolidWorks, Inventor, or other 3D modeling software is considered an asset.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
