The MSP Technician Role
We’re looking for an experienced, well-rounded IT professional who enjoys working both from home and out in the field. You’ll split your time between remote work, visiting clients on-site (mainly Abbotsford, Langley and Surrey), and joining us in our Chilliwack office from time to time.
You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy variety, autonomy, problem-solving, and meaningful client interactions, and if you’re excited to level up your skills across networking, servers, cloud, and project work.
Important: You must live in — and be able to commute throughout — the Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley. Applicants outside BC or unable to travel to client sites will not be considered.
This role blends remote work, onsite client visits, and hands-on project deployments. You’ll troubleshoot issues, support end users, and help implement modern infrastructure across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.
Remote Work (From Home)
When working remotely, your focus will be on:
- Troubleshooting technical issues escalated from the service desk
- Supporting end users with software, workstation, and account-related problems
- Assisting with Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure AD/Entra, and cloud-based support
- Handling tickets, documenting solutions, and collaborating with the team
- Helping prep for upcoming project work or client deployments
Remote work is less about backend infrastructure maintenance and more about troubleshooting, client communication, and supporting project tasks.
Onsite Field Work
Field work is an important part of the role and includes:
- Visiting client locations across Abbotsford, Langley, Surrey and surrounding areas like Chilliwack, Maple Ridge, Mission.
- Troubleshooting issues that require hands-on support
- Working directly with clients in person to solve problems and provide guidance
- Installing, upgrading or replacing workstations, network devices, firewalls, servers or peripherals
- Completing site assessments and validating network/server health
Project Deployments
You’ll also play a key role in delivering IT projects such as:
- New workstation deployments and PC refresh cycles
- Network upgrades (switches, firewalls, APs, VLAN changes, cabling coordination)
- Server installs, migrations and infrastructure improvements
- Cloud projects including SharePoint, M365 configuration and Azure integrations
- Security rollouts such as MFA, endpoint protection and compliance tools
General Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our service desk and engineering teams
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to our internal knowledge base
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and coworkers
- Ensure all work meets high-quality standards and aligns with Empyrion best practices
