Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fence Installer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining wood, chainlink, ornamental and farm style fences, ensuring safety, durability, and aesthetic appeal. This role requires a strong understanding of construction principles, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to understand math & measurements. Candidates with experience in related trades such as carpentry, masonry, or electrical work are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to determine fence layout and specifications
- Measure and mark installation sites accurately using hand tools and measuring devices
- Operate power tools such as drills, post drivers, and saws to cut, assemble, and install fence components
- Dig post holes using manual or powered augers, ensuring proper depth and alignment
- Set posts securely in concrete or other foundation materials, ensuring stability and compliance with safety standards
- Install various fencing materials including wood, vinyl, chain link, or ornamental fences
- Use caulking and sealing techniques to ensure weatherproofing and longevity of installations
- Perform minor repairs to major repairs or adjustments to existing fences as needed
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
- Adhere to all safety protocols during installation processes
Skills
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding schematics for accurate installations
- Experience with hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, levels, and measuring tapes
- Knowledge of construction methods related to fencing, masonry, carpentry, or concrete forming
- Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation (e.g., post drivers or mini-excavators) is a plus
- Basic understanding of construction estimating for project planning purposes
- Skills in caulking, concrete finishing, plumbing, electrical work or welding are advantageous but not required
- Strong physical stamina to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
