Our client, a Western Canadian agency representing many of the world’s finest “blue chip” manufacturers, is currently seeking an experienced Territory Manager based in the Greater Vancouver/Fraser Valley area. The Territory Manager will develop and service well-established accounts within the Industrial/Building Products Distribution channels, develop new business and explore growth opportunities with existing customers and within the region, with opportunity for future territory expansion. Our client has a reputation for honesty, integrity and innovation within the industry and is seeking a knowledgeable, client serviced focused representative with territory management experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Comprehensive knowledge of industrial product lines
· Service existing accounts in the territory as well as generating new business in all product lines
· Achieve annual sales targets by product line
· Develop strong relationships with clients, including end users, buyers, purchasing managers, safety officers, compliance officers
· Adhere to, develop, and implement marketing plans to support sales growth, market penetration, and business development objectives
· Prepare and deliver formal proposals, presentations, and product recommendations to all facets of the industry, including engineers, consultants, contractors, distributors, and end users
· Undertake product training from Principles and develop knowledge of industry competitors
· Participate in all company events including trade shows, online events, AGM and team building
· Complete administrative duties and provide ongoing reporting
· Actively dedicate time and commitment to product knowledge and self-study
· Be capable and comfortable with calling on the distribution channel at all levels with a thorough understanding of the Agency and the added value it provides
· Adhere to company guidelines and policies at all times
· Travel by car within their designated territory– expected to perform duties with limited supervision
· Travel across Canada for annual meetings and trade shows when required. Expected to be approximately once annually
Requirements & Competencies
· Proven experience in industrial sales, preferably within a technical or industrial product environment
· Previous experience successfully managing a geographic territory
· Results-oriented and highly motivated, with a proven ability to achieve and exceed sales targets
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Experience preparing and delivering professional sales presentations and proposals to a variety of stakeholders
· Able to work independently and self-motivated to achieve results and sales targets
· Strong work-ethic
· Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and professionalism while upholding the reputation and values of the company
· Accountable, dependable, and committed to achieving individual and team objectives
· Customer-focused with a proven ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships
· Willing and able to travel extensively within the assigned territory and periodically throughout Canada
· Valid driver’s license and vehicle are required
