Purpose of position
Manage disabilities, medical accommodations, medical related absences/leaves as they apply to all employee groups.
Key responsibilities

Demonstrated competency in Disability Case Management;
-
Complex case management-ability to prioritize case load;
-
Proficiency in handling psychological claims;
-
Implement professional case management strategies including return to work programs, injury prevention, and education/counseling;

Capable of managing mixed case load of occupational and non-occupational injuries/illnesses;
-
Liaise with health care providers, insurance providers and other external providers as necessary;
-
Work collaboratively with Employee Relations, Operational Managers and other internal stakeholders;
-
Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills;
-
Conflict resolution;
-
Knowledge of Human Resource policies & Labour processes that affect and inter-relate with Occupational Health Services (OHS);

Critical analysis;
-
Perform duties in accordance with established Jazz policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, and the safety of co-workers and clients;

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required qualifications
-
Certification, Diploma, Degree, or active progress towards: Human Resources, Business, Social Services, Health Sciences, Disability Case Management; or equivalent professional experience;
-
English language fluency or working knowledge.
Preferred qualifications
-
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in active Case Management environment;
-
Experience and knowledge in Workers’ Compensation Acts as well as Short- and Long-Term insurance programs;
-
Experience working in a unionized setting;
-
Experience in the aviation industry or heavy industry;
-
French language fluency or working knowledge.
