Leadership Opportunity
The Parry Sound Family Health Team (PSFHT) is seeking a collaborative and community focused leader to serve as its next Executive Director.
Located on the shores of Georgian Bay, the PSFHT supports primary care services for residents of West Parry Sound through a team-based model that brings together physicians, allied health professionals, and community partners.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the organization. This includes strategic planning, operations, financial stewardship, human resources, quality improvement, and community partnerships.
The Executive Director works closely with physicians, staff, community organizations, and health system partners to ensure the delivery of high quality, patient centred care while fostering a positive workplace culture and maintaining organizational sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Support the Board in achieving the organization’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen services and respond to emerging healthcare needs.
- Help position the organization for future success within a changing healthcare environment.
Organizational Leadership
- Lead the day-to- day operations of the Family Health Team.
- Support a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure programs and services are delivered effectively and efficiently.
People and Culture
- Lead and support an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive workplace.
- Support staff development, engagement, and performance.
Financial and Operational Stewardship
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and organizational resources.
- Ensure accountability to funders and compliance with applicable legislation and policies.
- Monitor organizational performance and support quality improvement initiatives.
Partnerships and Community Engagement
- Build strong relationships with physicians, healthcare providers, community organizations, and government partners.
- Represent the organization within the healthcare system and broader community.
- Promote collaboration that improves access to care and health outcomes.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will bring:
- University Degree in a related field (preferred) or College Degree in a related field
- Senior leadership experience in healthcare, community services, or a related sector.
- Experience in the field of health care and knowledge of Ontario’s healthcare system is considered an asset.
- Experience working with a Board of Directors.
- Strong skills in organizational leadership, financial management, and human resources.
- Excellent communication and relationship building abilities.
- A demonstrated ability to lead change, manage competing priorities, and build effective partnerships.
