As we continue to grow, we are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Automotive Refinish Prep Technician to join our team at our state-of-the-art facility in South London.
Position Overview:
The Automotive Refinish Prep Technician is responsible for supporting the Refinish department by preparing vehicles to meet production, quality, and cycle time targets. This role is critical to ensuring consistent throughput and delivering a high-quality final product.
Key Responsibilities (Refinish Performance Metrics Focus):
- Photograph and Document the repairs being completed
- Consistently meet or exceed daily and weekly production targets within the refinish process
- Prepare vehicles to a standard that ensures zero defects and minimizes rework in the paint stage
- Maintain efficient workflow to support overall cycle time goals
- Execute proper sanding, masking, and priming techniques aligned with OEM and shop standards
- Ensure all pre-paint surfaces meet quality control checkpoints before moving to the paint booth
- Minimize material waste and rework through proper prep procedures
- Maintain organized work areas to support shop efficiency and throughput
- Collaborate with painters and production team to ensure seamless vehicle flow
- Adhere to all safety and environmental compliance standards
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in automotive prep or collision repair preferred
- Strong understanding of refinish process and quality expectations
- Ability to work in a production-driven, fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail with a focus on minimizing rework
- Strong team mindset and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
