Job Overview
Porcherie la Montagne is looking for an individual to join our hog farm as a Farm Labourer handling livestock care. In this role, you will be an essential part of the team, working in the barns to ensure the health and well-being of our swine, while maintaining the site premises.
Job Duties
- Feed and tend livestock, set and monitor automated feed, water, and environmental ventilation systems
- Maintain overall cleanliness of pens, barns, and grounds, and assist with routine maintenance and minor equipment repairs
- Inspect livestock daily to monitor herd health and assist with animal care treatments under management direction
- Follow and maintain site biosecurity, health, safety, and sanitation protocols
- Assist in handling, sorting, and loading hogs for transport, and respond to site alarm calls as required
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- No formal education required.
- No formal experience required (will provide on-the-job training); prior farm or livestock experience is an asset.
- English is required.
Pay: $21.00 per hour
