Davina's Swim House is seeking energetic, motivated, self-starting individuals for our growing swim school.
Responsibilities:

Greet and create a welcoming environment for swimmers and provide a high standard of customer service to all participants.

Supervise and support swimming lessons to ensure quality and consistency of swimming instructors and programs

Review, on an ongoing basis, lesson plans and progress evaluations of aquatic instructors

Assess new clients for level placement and ensures levels are confirmed with parents and follow up on discrepancies.

Addresses customer concerns in a timely manner, ensuring complaints are documented and if unable to resolve, ensure next level is aware to follow up.

Maintain accurate, up- to-date progress sheets and records for participants and instructors

Help mentor, coach new instructors on the Davina's Swim House teaching methods and program in a hands-on manner

“Check-in” with each swimmer over session to ensure correct level, progress and enjoyment.

Assist in the supervision and leadership of new instructor/guards, volunteers and instructor mentors

Ensure report cards are accurately completed and ready to be published on time.

Set up and take down lesson bins, lane ropes and other equipment as required checking that equipment is safe and in good repair. Report immediately all malfunctions and remove the damaged equipment from circulation

Performs required maintenance duties, including but not restricted to: change room/washroom checks, cleaning and disinfecting, pool chemistry tests, vacuuming, balancing of pool and pool fouling clean up.

Attends and participates in all mandatory meetings and training sessions.

Responds to aquatic or first aid situations ensuring emergency procedures are followed.

Ensures compliance with Ontario Health Regulations, relevant legislation, and Policy and Procedures manuals.

Committed to being present and on time to every shift, and in assigned uniform.

Qualifications:
-
Completed Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
-
Minimum of 6 sessions of Instructional experience

Current LSS Swim Instructor
-
Current LSS Lifesaving Instructor
-
Current lifeguard award
-
Current Standard First Aid
-
Aquatic Supervisor Training (or willing to obtain)

Must attend and successfully complete related mandatory and sessional training sessions

Acceptable Police Check for Vulnerable Sector
