We specialize in civil construction, excavation, trucking, site development, and infrastructure projects. As our company continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Estimator / Project Manager to join our team.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the successful planning, estimating, and execution of civil construction projects while working in a supportive, family-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities: Estimating & Tendering
- Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for civil construction projects.
- Solicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
- Prepare and submit competitive bids, proposals, RFQs, and tender packages.
- Analyze project risks and opportunities during the bidding process.
- Maintain and update estimating databases and historical cost information.
Project Management
- Coordinate project startup activities and attend pre-construction meetings.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources.
- Work closely with field supervisors, operators, subcontractors, and clients to ensure successful project execution.
- Monitor project costs and prepare progress reports.
- Manage change orders, contract documentation, and project records.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
General Responsibilities
- Assist with contract administration and project closeout documentation.
- Support continuous improvement of estimating and project management processes.
- Participate in business development opportunities and client relationship management.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in civil construction estimating, project management, or a similar role.
- Experience with excavation, site development, road construction, underground utilities, or heavy civil projects is considered a strong asset.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with estimating software is an asset.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
- Valid driver's license.
