Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our dental practice. This role combines front desk administrative responsibilities with clinical support, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and familiarity with dental and medical office procedures. Prior experience with electronic medical records and dental software is highly valued. Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and checking patients in and out
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly and professionally, directing calls as needed
- Manage electronic medical records using systems such as Paradigm, Abeldent, etc…ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Verify patient insurance information and assist with billing processes
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient procedures, including sterilization of instruments and setup of necessary supplies
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing instruments and maintaining patient comfort
- Provide patient education on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health practices
- Maintain a clean, organized reception area and clinical workspace in compliance with health and safety standards
- Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and managing correspondence
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a dental receptionist or in a dental office setting is preferred; experience in medical or healthcare offices is also valuable
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and healthcare environments
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing schedules, records, and billing processes
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and insurance providers
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Office experience that demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and strong administrative capabilities
- Familiarity with dental assisting procedures is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential
