Position Overview:
- Horizontal Directional Drill operator and locator to drill on Ditch Witch drill rigs from 5,000lbs to 20,000lb rigs installing PE gas lines. Rigs are JT5, JT20 and JT30.
- Working hours are 10 to 12 hours per day, typically Monday thru Saturday. Projects are in Edmonton and surrounding areas. Some travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain drilling equipment and electronics with a strong focus on safety.
- Operate truck and trailer to transport necessary tooling, water and equipment to the job site.
- Ensure compliance with Company and Client drilling procedures.
- Ensure safety documentation is completed as necessary.
- Complete pre-drilling bore plans and data logging of bore path.
Qualifications:
- Pipeline and Utility HDD experience required.
- Minimum 2 years Drilling on similar sized HDD Rigs.
- Minimum High School Diploma.
- Must have experience with DigiTrak F5 and F5+ Falcon locating equipment, including data log.
- Operator must have an Alberta Class 1 drivers license or equivalent. Drivers abstract required.
- Locator must have minimum Alberta Class 5 drivers license or equivalent. Drivers abstract required.
- Pipeline Construction Safety Training (PCST).
- Ground Disturbance Level 2.
- Member of OE or LIUNA an asset. Would need to join as permit if not currently a member.
