As our Seasonal Tree Lot Manager , you'll lead one of Aunt Leah's signature social enterprises, overseeing two busy tree lot locations in Vancouver and Burnaby while inspiring a team of seasonal staff and volunteers. From planning and preparing before the season begins to leading day-to-day operations during one of our busiest fundraising initiatives, you'll play a key role in delivering an exceptional experience for our community while making a lasting impact.

About the Opportunity:
This is a unique opportunity to combine leadership, operations, customer service, and community impact in one rewarding seasonal role.
You'll oversee all aspects of two Christmas Tree Lot locations—from pre-season planning and recruiting a seasonal team to managing daily operations, inventory, volunteers, sales, and customer experience throughout the holiday season. You'll work closely with Aunt Leah's staff and community partners to ensure one of our largest annual fundraising initiatives is a success.

Operational Timeline & Treelot Lot Manager Schedule:
Employment begins on August 24, 2026, with paid training provided, and concludes on January 15, 2027, or earlier if all end-of-season reporting is complete.
Prior to the start of the Christmas Tree Lot sales season, this position will primarily involve office-based work focused on operational planning, business preparation, staffing coordination, inventory management, administrative responsibilities, and other pre-season requirements. During this period, the expected work schedule will generally be Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Once the Christmas Tree Lot sales season begins, the role will transition to a combination of on-site tree lot management at the Vancouver and Burnaby locations and office-based responsibilities as required. The Tree Lot Manager is responsible for providing operational oversight during the sales season, including mandatory availability on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, as well as evening shifts based on operational requirements.
Due to the seasonal nature of this position and the operational demands of managing Christmas Tree Lot operations, overtime may be required. Additional hours may be scheduled as necessary to support staffing requirements, supplier deliveries, site operations, customer service, financial reporting, and other business needs.
A valid Class 5 BC driver’s licence, satisfactory driver’s abstract, and access to a reliable personal vehicle. The successful candidate must maintain appropriate business-use vehicle insurance at their own expense, as the vehicle will be required to support operational travel between tree lot locations, storage areas, supplier locations, and other business-related destinations as required.
Position Status: Seasonal, Temporary Full Time; 40 hours a week
Reports To: Director of Operations
Compensation: $28.00 per hour
Qualifications:
- 1 – 3 years of experience in business or social service management
- An undergraduate degree in business or humanities, and/or a relevant combination of education and experience
- Prior experience in operations management, including coordinating day-to-day business activities, inventory, logistics, staffing, and/or site-based operations.
Requirements:
- Undergo and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check & Local Police Information Check (with vulnerable persons)
- A valid Class 5 BC driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle to drive between sites and storage
- Ability to obtain vehicle business insurance of $5M liability
- Ability to produce a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
- Mandatory availability to work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the Christmas Tree Lot sales season. Weekend availability is a required component of this position.
- Required to work outdoors in all weather conditions; waterproof clothing & footwear is required
- This position involves physical work moving objects weighing up to 50lbs
- Basic knowledge of working with tools – drills, hammers, loppers, saws
- Ability to drive 15’ truck if needed
Assets:
- Valid First Aid Certification is an asset
- Non–profit experience, supervising volunteers and working with donors is an asset
- Experience working within a social enterprise, retail, seasonal business, fundraising environment, or community-based organization is an asset.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of two Christmas Tree Lot locations in Vancouver and Burnaby, ensuring successful execution of sales goals, operational priorities, customer service standards, and organizational objectives.
- Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and support a team of seasonal staff and volunteers to ensure effective coverage and a positive team environment throughout the sales season.
- Plan and coordinate all operational needs for the Christmas Tree Lots, including inventory management, tree and product orders, supplier deliveries, site preparation, set-up, take-down, and seasonal transitions.
- Create an outstanding customer experience by providing exceptional service, resolving customer concerns, and ensuring the tree lots are welcoming, organized, clean, safe, and community-focused.
- Manage daily financial operations including cash handling, banking, financial reconciliation, sales reporting, and adherence to financial controls.
- Oversee Point of Sale operations, including Square POS systems, staff transactions, and sales tracking.
- Coordinate staffing schedules, monitor attendance, and adjust staffing coverage to meet changing operational needs throughout the season.
- Work collaboratively with Aunt Leah’s Communications team and internal partners to support marketing, community outreach, fundraising goals, and overall seasonal success.
- Manage the unloading and organization of supplier tree deliveries, ensuring inventory is safely received, organized, and maintained.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, zoning, insurance requirements, Aunt Leah’s policies, health and safety standards, and WorkSafeBC requirements.
- Maintain safe and secure tree lot environments by supporting daily site inspections, cleanliness standards, hazard identification, and workplace safety practices.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions while actively supporting site operations, including physical tasks such as moving materials, assisting with deliveries, organizing inventory, and supporting set-up and take-down activities.
- Complete end-of-season reporting, including financial reporting, key performance indicators, health and safety reporting, and recommendations to support future Tree Lot planning and improvements.

- This position requires lifting of heavier objects up to 50 lbs
Working Conditions:
- Candidates must be able to commit to 40 hours per week and be available to work a variety of shifts including mornings and evenings between 9am to 9pm
- Must have the ability to work Friday, Saturday & Sundays
