Buyer - Heavy Equipment Parts
An established industrial organization is seeking a Buyer to support procurement and inventory operations at its Central Alberta facility.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- 10-hour Shifts

The Buyer is responsible for managing the day to day procurement and inventory requirements for heavy equipment parts and components. This role oversees purchasing, expediting, shipping, receiving, and inventory management to ensure parts are available when needed to support operations efficiently and cost-effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Procure and expedite parts in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Source materials and services from approved vendors
- Maintain compliance with purchasing and financial controls
- Manage warranty claims, material returns, and core returns
- Receive and verify incoming materials and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Stock shelves, monitor inventory levels, and track stock outages
- Assist with cycle counts and annual inventory counts
- Prepare shipping documentation and ensure compliance with TDG and WHMIS requirements
- Coordinate logistics and freight arrangements as requirements
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Journeyman Parts Technician Certificate preferred
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in heavy equipment, construction, mining, or related industry
- Experience with parts sourcing, purchasing, receiving, and logistics coordination
- Basic understanding of contracts and vendor agreements
- Intermediate computers skills, particularly Excel
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Customer service focus with strong communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, ethics, and regulatory compliance
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Valid Advanced Class 5 Driver's License and clean Driver's Abstract
- Criminal record check
- Negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Successful completion of a job-related fitness evaluation
