Build an integrated foot and gait service without starting from zero
Agility Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic is looking for a caring, clinically strong and collaborative Registered Chiropodist to join our growing multidisciplinary team in Stittsville.
Our clinic already serves a large and active physiotherapy patient base. We frequently see patients with foot and ankle pain, plantar heel pain, lower-limb injuries, gait and biomechanical concerns, hypermobility, arthritis and potential orthotics needs. These patients are currently being referred externally, and we are ready to build an integrated foot and gait service within the clinic.
This is an excellent opportunity for a chiropodist who wants an established internal referral base, administrative support and the ability to grow a service without building a practice completely from the beginning.
The opportunity
The position will initially focus on:
- Comprehensive foot and lower-limb assessments
- Biomechanical and gait assessments
- Assessment and management of musculoskeletal foot and ankle conditions
- Prescription, casting or scanning, fitting and dispensing of custom foot orthotics
- Footwear education and recommendations
- Conservative management of common foot conditions
- Collaboration with physiotherapists and massage therapists
- Referrals between chiropody and physiotherapy when clinically appropriate
There is an opportunity to expand into broader chiropody services as the service grows and the required equipment and infection-control processes are established.
What we provide
- An established physiotherapy patient and referral base
- A fully furnished private treatment room
- Jane booking and electronic charting
- Front-desk scheduling and payment support
- Clinic marketing and community promotion
- Assistance establishing appointment types, fees and patient processes
- Support coordinating with an orthotics laboratory
- On-site parking
- A collaborative physiotherapy and massage therapy team
- Opportunity to increase clinical days as demand grows
- Clinical independence with no pressure to prescribe or sell orthotics
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough and clinically appropriate foot, ankle and lower-limb assessments
- Determine whether orthotics or other interventions are medically appropriate
- Discuss reasonable treatment alternatives with patients
- Prepare accurate prescriptions and laboratory orders
- Personally fit and dispense prescribed orthotics in accordance with College standards
- Provide appropriate break-in, footwear and follow-up instructions
- Maintain complete and timely clinical documentation
- Review invoices, insurance documentation and records issued under your name
- Communicate and collaborate with the patient’s physiotherapist when consent is provided
- Maintain all professional and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario
- Eligible to practise chiropody independently in Ontario
- Valid professional liability insurance
- Strong knowledge of foot and lower-limb biomechanics
- Competence in custom foot orthotics assessment, prescription, casting or scanning, fitting and follow-up
- Strong communication and patient-education skills
- Commitment to ethical, evidence-informed and patient-centred care
- Comfortable working collaboratively within a rehabilitation clinic
Experienced chiropodists and newer graduates who are comfortable practising independently are welcome to apply.
Compensation and schedule
- $55–$65 per hour, based on experience and scope of practice
- Part-time employee position
- One consistent clinic day per week initially
- Minimum of six paid hours on the scheduled clinic day during the initial launch period
- Flexible choice of weekday based on clinic and practitioner availability
- Opportunity to expand to additional days as the schedule grows

Our clinic culture
At Agility, we value honesty, collaboration, clinical excellence and doing what is right for the patient. Orthotics and other devices are recommended only when clinically appropriate.
