Supply Chain Manager required for emerging global food and beverage ingredient company. Principal Accountabilities:
- Develop and manage positive relationships with existing suppliers to ensure the continual provision of high-quality, on-specification products, while continually negotiating .
- Conduct regular research to source and qualify alternative suppliers, manufacturers, and new prospective products; collect and analyze data to support sourcing decisions.
- Coordinate the RFP process, soliciting formal product cost and availability information to satisfy customer requirements.
- Stay current on global commodity prices and currency valuations, and their impact on costs, to ensure informed negotiations with vendors and manufacturers. Prepare strategies to mitigate or capitalize on these situations.
- Work with shipping and freight companies to ensure orders are delivered cost-effectively and on time.
- Manage the cost center budget for the supply chain department, partnering with Finance to monitor spend, report variances, and support annual budget planning
- Optimize forecast modeling, and manage inventory, procurement,(including PO generation) and communications with manufacturers to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Provide direct reports with leadership, direction, and coaching to achieve work objectives and improve performance and skills.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to ensure accurate forecasts that meet business expectations, while remaining in line with customer contractual obligations.
- Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and manage supplier performance related to service, delivery, quality, and cost.
- Manage incoming shipments with freight forwarders, manufacturers, and 3PL warehousing locations.
- Collaborate with the QA Director in support of FDA, CBP, and CBSA regulations.
- Develop and lead a continuous improvement culture focused on cost/efficiency, employee engagement, and employee retention.
Educational and Other Requirements:
- Post-secondary diploma or bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics management, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and purchasing or supply chain experience will be considered.

- Advanced computer skills, including outstanding Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas), Access, and ERP experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics considered an asset.
- Willing to travel internationally to visit manufacturers located around the globe.
