Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in commercial on-highway truck and trailer as well as off-highway heavy equipment. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting heavy machinery, trucks and trailers.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy-duty equipment including engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Troubleshoot issues using schematics, technical manuals, and analysis skills
- Conduct welding, HVAC repairs, and other industrial maintenance tasks as needed
- Follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities to prevent accidents or injuries
- Assist with the installation of new machinery or upgrades to existing equipment
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance procedures
Experience
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery, engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and control systems including PLCs
- Skills in welding, HVAC systems, and electrical work are highly desirable
- Ability to analyze complex mechanical or electrical issues quickly and accurately
- Excellent communication skills in English and a customer service-oriented approach are important for collaborating with team members and supporting operational needs
- Must have a heavy duty mechanic ticket in this industry minimum three years
Pay: $28.00-$55.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Summerland, BC
