Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to join our busy restaurant team. This role is vital in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment, ensuring that food service operations run smoothly. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food safety and cleanliness, with some experience in food handling or the food industry being a plus. Duties
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment promptly to maintain cleanliness standards
- Assist with meal preparation and food handling as needed under supervision
- Support kitchen staff by organizing supplies and ensuring the availability of clean dishes and utensils
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including counters, sinks, and storage spaces
- Follow all food safety protocols to ensure hygiene and sanitation standards are met
- Help with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables or assembling ingredients when required
- Ensure proper disposal of waste and recycling materials to keep the kitchen tidy and safe
Requirements
- Prior experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills and good communication abilities
- Willingness to learn new skills related to meal preparation and kitchen operations
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting moderate loads (up to 50 pounds)
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends or evenings if needed
